変速は軽くなったが、旧アルテグラ(6800)に対し、半歩及ばず、現行アルテグラ(8000)に一歩及ばない。
その辺の忖度加減がシマノは上手く、同時に大変だなと思う。
今回のトピックである物理的な「引きの軽さ」だが旧105(5800)に比べると、多少は軽くなった気がする程度位しか実感できなかった。
それよりもよかったのは、ワイヤーの張り加減をディレイラー本体で行えるようになったことだろう。
今まではエイヤっと勘を頼りに張ってから必要に応じてボルトを緩めてワイヤーをペンチで抑えてと四苦八苦していたところがかなり改善された。
取り付けに際しては特に難しいことはないが、一度シマノのディーラーマニュアルを読んだ方がいい。
ぱっと見で、ワイヤールーティングが分からず、確認せずに取り付けると途方にくれそうだからだ。
ワイヤーを締め付ける際にも注意が必要で且つ「その後」も初見では分からないルートを通るからだ。
かなり完成度が高く、フロント変速に関しては他社を圧倒するに相応しい出来栄え、シマノ内においても、ブランドヒエラルキーを意味のないものにしてしまう程、良い製品だ。
技術的には完成した感がある今、フロントディレイラーが必要のない時代に向かっていくのは皮肉としか言いようがない。(ロードにおいてもフロント、ナローワイドシングル、リヤ14段が今後の規定路線)
キャリパーブレーキもまた必要のない技術となる将来(リヤ14段化に伴うエンド拡大によりディスクブレーキ隆盛)
総合的にシマノの優位性が失われていくのは忍びなく、シマノ冬の時代を予見させる製品とも感じた。(シマノが競合他社を圧倒している技術はフロントディレイラーとキャリパーブレーキ)
繰り返される歴史の中では、技術が完成した直後からそれは不要となるからで、この2件においても、そのとおりとなることは想像に難くない。
頼りはホローテックのみとなり、いささか心もとない。
ディレイラー側のアジャストに余裕を持たせるなら何度か張り直して適度に引っ張る必要はあるが、メモリがあるのはとても親切だと思う。
FC-R7000との組み合わせだけど、タイミングが合えばレバー操作後にいつの間にか変速していて驚いた。特にインナー→アウター。ジャラジャラ言うのを待ったら言わず、目視したら既に変速していたというスムーズさ。
もちろんジャラジャラ言うときもあります。
ディレイラーはクラスによる差が少ないと言われているけど、実際試したくなる。前後ディレイラーの価格差は小さいので、将来R8000にするつもりなら敢えてディレイラーをR8000にしておくのもいいかもしれない。
クランクセットとSTIは価格差が激しいが・・・。
アルテグラ にバージョンアップしようかとも思いましたがリアでも然程操作性の差を感じられなかったので105の新型を選択しました。 7000型は良いですね!
5800型で決まらなかった調整がほぼ一発でオッケーです。 なんと言ってもワイヤーの締め付け調整が手元で出来るの最高です。
今日のポタリングは久しぶりに気分最高でした。
すっきりしたデザイン、テンションの調整が可能になったってのがいいっすね。
セッティングは少しコツがいるけど、調整幅がかなり広がりました。
旧型105のクランクでも調整次第で何とか使えるけど、予算があればクランクも新型をお勧めしますw
少しの間、旧型クランクで乗ってたけど調整次第では普通に乗れますよ。
こちらもRD同様、+ドライバーが必要なくなったのが地味にうれしいですw
